Jon Penner
Jon is the owner of Universal Doors and has been part of the business for most of his life, working alongside his dad and proudly continuing the family legacy. He’s passionate about treating customers like family and creating lasting relationships within the community. Alongside his role at Universal Doors, Jon is deeply involved in vehicle restorations through Universal Truck Accessories, often heading out on road trips to source unique project vehicles. In his downtime, he enjoys lake life with his family and getting in as many rounds of golf as possible during Manitoba’s summer season.
Chris Donald
With over a decade of experience, Chris Donald plays a key role in the success of Universal Doors as General Manager. His leadership and commitment have helped guide the company’s continued growth. Outside of work, Chris enjoys time with his family, as well as golfing and camping during the warmer months. He values the strong sense of teamwork at Universal Doors and appreciates the fast-paced, collaborative environment that makes each day rewarding.
Arnold Castle
With 15 years of experience, Arnold is a key part of the Universal Doors team, serving as Warehouse Manager. His reliability and understanding of operations help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. Outside of work, he enjoys camping and spending time outdoors with family and friends. Arnold values the supportive environment at Universal Doors, where strong relationships and teamwork make the job more than just work.
Syd Carter-Squire
Syd has been our incredible Office Manager for the past three years, bringing strong organizational skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset to the role. Outside the office, she stays active on the soccer field and contributes as an assistant coach for the ACC women’s team. Syd values the supportive, close-knit culture at Universal Doors and takes pride in being part of a team where collaboration and connection matter.
Cassidy Neufeld
Cassidy works in Reception and Inside Sales at Universal Doors and has been part of the team for just over a year. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and caring for her dog, Honey. With a background in Medical Administration, Cassidy brings strong organizational and communication skills to her role and has quickly adapted to the fast-paced world of overhead doors. For her, working at Universal Doors means being part of a supportive team that values growth, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Oge Nwankwo
Oge is the Administrative Assistant handling Accounts Receivables and Payables at Universal Doors, having joined the team three months ago. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her three young boys, exploring Brandon through walks, library visits, trips to the art gallery, and relaxing weekends at the park. For Oge, working at Universal Doors offers a valuable opportunity to deepen her understanding of business and finance practices in Canada. She appreciates the collaborative atmosphere and the positive energy that drives the team’s success.
1994
Westman Door Distributors, a wholesale subsidiary company, was created to distribute door products to lumber yards and building supply companies in the Westman area.
2018
Universal Doors & Westman Door Distributors are acquired by Wallace and Wallace of Winnipeg, MB.
2019
Westman Door Distributors and Wallace Overhead Doors are granted exclusive distribution rights, to Holmes Garage Door products in Manitoba.
2020
Westman Door Distributors and Wallace Overhead Doors are granted exclusive distribution rights, to Holmes Garage Door products in Saskatchewan.
